Your views are sought on a proposed Section 11 order to suspend public access rights normally exercisable under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act at George Square and Glasgow Green to facilitate the Radio 1 Big Weekend in May 2014. George Square will be closed to public access between Monday 19th and Sunday 25th May, inclusive; and part of Glasgow Green between Friday 16th and Friday 30th May, inclusive.  Closure of the Clyde Walkway/NCN 75 at this location will be limited to event days only (10am – midnight on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May).  Alternative routes will be made available on adjacent paths and roads wherever possible.
 
You are invited to view the site maps via the following links and then use the form at the link marked ‘take part’ to submit your comments or objections.  We will consider your comments when finalising the detail of the order.  If you choose to submit a formal objection you will be contacted by a Council officer to discuss potential solutions to the issue you have raised.  Unresolved objections will be submitted to Scottish Government Ministers to be taken into account when making their decision on whether to approve, modify or dismiss the order.

Glasgow City Council launched a City Centre Strategy in November 2013, a key objective included the development of a City Centre Transport Strategy. Developed in conjunction with stakeholders, a draft version has now been produced. We are now looking to gather your views and opinions which will be used to help finalise the Strategy.
