Strategic Plan for Cycling (2015 - 2025)

What do we want to know?: Glasgow City Council‘s Strategic Plan for Cycling 2015 -2025 consultation runs from 12th June 2015 to the 4th September 2015.  This Plan sets out Glasgow’s vision, objectives, targets and actions for increasing levels of cycling – for leisure, as a mode of transport and for sport.
The Plan updates the 2010 strategy which focussed on preparing the city for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. The Games were a resounding success and this plan builds upon its legacy, making best use of existing and new facilities, and aiming to increase participation in cycling as an everyday activity, as well as a sport and leisure activity.
Since the original Strategic Plan for Cycling was published in 2010, considerable achievements have been made across the city.
-        The number of cycling facilities has grown considerably;
-        Investment in cycling has increased and remains steadily above the national average; and
-        The number of people cycling has increased significantly – a 200% increase since 2007.
We are now looking for your views and opinions which will be used to help finalise the Strategic Plan
