What do we want to know?: The purpose of this consultation is to inform the development of the Local Flood Risk Management Plan for the Clyde and Loch Lomond Local Plan District. This is in response to the Flood Risk Management Strategy launched by the Scottish Government on 11th January 2016 to coordinate efforts to tackle flooding in Scotland.
The
Clyde and Loch Lomond Local Plan District Flood Risk Management Strategy can be
accessed via the SEPA website here -
http://apps.sepa.org.uk/FRMStrategies/clyde-loch-lomond.html
The strategies set the national direction of future flood risk management, helping
to target investment and coordinate actions across public bodies. The
strategies explain what causes flooding in high risk areas as well as the
impact when flooding does occur. This information is used as a basis for better
decision-making across flood risk management organisations.
They are approved by The Scottish Government and published by SEPA as Scotland’s
strategic flood risk management authority.
We would like to gather your views and opinions on the extent of flooding outlined by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) flood maps, and the timescales for the Clyde and Loch Lomond actions which relate to the Glasgow City Council geographic area. For information about the Plan and the supporting documents, please see the Consultation Hub (www.glasgow.gov.uk/consultations) ('current consultations').
