What do we want to know?: Glasgow City Council is launching a comprehensive survey on Large-Scale Co-Living planning guidance. This is a relatively new type of housing to Glasgow. Given the significant potential impact this type of accommodation may have on housing choice we would like to hear your views. The landscape around co-living housing is evolving rapidly, and the concept of personal living spaces combined with shared amenity and recreational spaces is being promoted by the development industry. The aim of our survey is to gather insights that will contribute to the development of effective planning guidance for Co-Living proposals, ensuring that they meet the needs of occupants and developing a better understanding of how to deliver high quality design.
The Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997, as amended by the Planning etc. (Scotland) Act (2006) allows for non-statutory planning guidance (PG) to be prepared as considered necessary by the Planning Authority. This public consultation is intended to:
- Publicise the PG in order to allow those who wish to comment the opportunity to do so;
- Run an evidence gathering exercise aimed at capturing people’s experiences of using Co-Living; and
- Consider any representations made within the timescale.
Glasgow City Council is now required to process personal information in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For more information about this please visit : https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=22793
