Glasgow’s “City Ways” are active travel routes that radiate from the city centre. These key walking and cycling corridors link into the wider network and are characterised by features such as improved pedestrian space and segregated cycle lanes. With business, cultural, educational and residential destinations in close proximity, the routes provide greater access to all aspects of our city. The forthcoming East City Way will deliver a safer, more comfortable walking and cycling active travel route between the city centre and Mount Vernon, extending to the Lanarkshire boundary, connecting communities and local amenities along its 7km length.

The Licensing Board is consulting on its new draft Licensing Policy Statement and draft Overprovision Assessment. The draft Licensing Policy Statement sets out the Licensing Board’s proposed approach to the licensing and regulation of the sale of alcohol in Glasgow. Proposed changes to the current policy statement have been highlighted in yellow. The draft Overprovision Assessment sets out proposed overprovision localities where there would be a presumption against the grant of further licences for the sale of alcohol. A consultation document providing background information on the consultation has been prepared in order to assist in responding. Your consultation response should be in written form and can be sent to the Board as follows: Post: The Clerk City of Glasgow Licensing Board City Chambers George Square Glasgow G2 1DU Email: licensingboard@glasgow.gov.uk

The European Championships have now finished. Alongside the sport we had two weeks of world class culture in George Square which we temporarily closed to traffic. We’re considering permanently closing the square and we’d like to know what you think about that.
The Council provides a range of bereavement services which we would like to hear your views and opinions on. The information will be used to improve the service we provide and ensure they continue to meet the needs of our residents and citizens.
