Policy CDP6 of the City Development Plan provides the context for protecting and enhancing the Green Network and for supporting the city’s Green Belt. The Guidance sets out how development proposals in the Green Belt should be considered and how open space should be protected and enhanced through the development process. The Guidance also supports policy CDP 6 in setting out criteria for providing new open spaces in association with new development.
We would like to gather your views and opinions on the guidance, which will then be used to inform the final draft of the guidance.
Representations should be submitted to DevelopmentPlan@glasgow.gov.uk or can be sent to the address below.

Policy CDP12 seeks to ensure that new development will be supported by the appropriate infrastructure relative to its nature and location. The Guidance outlines the mechanisms the Council will use to secure contributions to deliver on specified infrastructure as well as broader bespoke requirements that may emerge in a particular development or location.
It sets out the justification for infrastructure requirements including locational restrictions, the calculation methodology and the protocols for engagement and payment of contributions along with financial viability and cases where exemptions may apply.
The lanes network in the city centre is flourishing in some areas, but could undoubtedly be improved in others. This draft lanes strategy is part of the council’s wider city centre strategy which seeks to improve the overall experience of the city centre for people, as well as encouraging footfall and economic development. Developed in consultation with stakeholders including the, businesses, community groups, and waste contractors. The draft lane strategy contains a range of potential actions such as events and pop-up activities; integration with City Deal and initiatives on waste and recycling; public health and community safety; parking and surfacing. Given the complex nature of lane ownership, it will be essential to develop a shared sense of mission and motivation from these owners to successfully help deliver the strategy. The regeneration of these lanes would play a significant role in the on-going transformation on the city centre.
Following the open day held in December 2016, the design for the Tollcross Burn in Sandyhills Park has been developed taking into account both suggestions and concerns from local residents and stakeholders. We are now holding a design exhibition to present the proposed final design for the Burn and to hear any last thoughts on the design before submitting a planning application. The design includes areas for active play, footpaths, access and interaction with the water and crossing points linking to the local path network.
The Open Day will be held on 1st March 3pm-8pm, Coffee Corner, 378 Ardgay St, Sandyhills.
If you are unable to come to the Open Day, please find attached design proposal and you can email us any comments you may have.
As part of its consideration of proposals for the Integrated Grant Fund, Glasgow City Council’s Executive Committee agreed to create a “Fairer Glasgow Fund”. The primary purpose of this Fund will be to help organisations who wish to develop proposals around community asset transfers as the relevant parts of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 come into force. This short survey seeks your views on a number of questions and areas so that we are able to outline the focus for the Fund and achieve maximum impact with the resources available. We would be grateful if you could take the time to complete this short survey and expect that it should take you no longer than 10 minutes.
This survey should be completed online, however paper copies may be available on request from jackie.henderson@glasgow.gov.uk
