In order to help us understand what our people value about the Glasgow Life library service - and how we could encourage more people to take advantage of our diverse offer – we would like to get your views on what you believe is important so Glasgow’s libraries remain valued, relevant and integral to the city.
 
We have questions for those who use our libraries regularly and those who don’t visit us quite so often. It is important to us that everyone can take part in helping to shape the ‘Vision for Glasgow Libraries’.

What do we want to know?
We would like to gather your views and opinions for the future use of the red blaes pitches in Victoria Park.  There are currently three proposals (details included in the supporting documents) and we would like to hear your views about each of them and any further ideas you may have. Two proposals were received through an earlier marketing exercise and a third proposal has been received since then.
 
Proposal 1 - Community Sports Facility
Proposal 2 - Community Orchard, Bike Recreation Area and Community Garden
Proposal 3 - Grassing Over
 
The purpose of the consultation is to consider ways to facilitate positive use of the area of the Park, currently laid out as red blaes football pitches, and provide community benefit.   
 
Please read the supporting documents before responding to this survey.
 
The information we gather from this survey, along with previous engagement work, will be used to inform a proposal to be put forward to the council's Executive Committee. The information gathered will only be used for the purposes of this exercise.

What do we want to know?

Following the commitment set out in City Plan 2 (2009), and in response to requests from local members and residents, the Council has prepared a study of Broomhill as a potential Conservation Area. The Draft study highlights the quality of the historic environment to be found and proposes the designation of a new Conservation Area.

This consultation is your opportunity to influence whether or not the Council will progress these proposed designations. 
 
Paper copies available to view at Whiteinch Library and at Glasgow City Council, 231 George Street, G1 1RX.

Following the Public Meeting it has been decided to extend the consultation period to 1st June 2015.  A further invitation to comment will be issued to all residents.  Please note that all comments received to date will be logged and included in the consideration of the consultation feedback.   It is anticipated that following analysis of the responses, a conclusion will be reached by end September 2015.

What do we want to know?

From 4th August 2014, copies of the supplementary guidance may be inspected, during normal business hours, at the Mitchell Library, all local libraries and at Development and Regeneration Services, 231 George Street, Glasgow, G1 1RX.

The documents can also be viewed and downloaded on the Council’s website www.glasgow.gov.uk/supplementaryguidance and further information on them can be obtained via the website, by emailing developmentplan@glasgow.gov.uk or by phoning 0141 287 8608.

Anyone wishing to make representations on the supplementary guidance must do so using the representation form. The form can be found on the Council’s website at www.glasgow.gov.uk/supplementaryguidance. It can be submitted electronically or downloaded and returned to the Development Plan Team, Development and Regeneration Services, Glasgow City Council, 231 George Street, Glasgow, G1 1RX.

What do we want to know?

Your views are sought on a proposed Section 11 Order to suspend public access rights* normally exercisable under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act on an area of land located on the south side of Bellahouston Park, adjacent to Mosspark Boulevard. The area is equivalent to around one fifth of the total Park area. The purpose of the Order is to facilitate ticket-only access to the Bellahouston Summer Sessions; to protect public safety (both during installation of stages and sound/lighting systems, and during the events); and to provide security for temporary structures. The proposed Order will be effective from 8am on Friday 8th August until 6pm on Saturday 23rd August 2014.
 
A map showing the extent of the Order and alternative routes, where appropriate, is provided at the below link.  Representations or objections in respect of the Order may be sent to the email address below.  In the case of objections, the grounds on which they are made must be stated and contact details, including a telephone number, must be provided.
 
Please note*: this consultation refers only to management of public access rights (mainly walking and cycling).  It does not concern other matters relating to the event such as spectator management, parking issues or noise control.  Correspondence relating to the latter will not be considered.
