What do we want to know?

Your views are sought on a proposed Section 11 Order to suspend public access rights* normally exercisable under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act on two small areas of land at Cathkin Braes Country Park, together with the designated Mountain Bike Track which comprises the ‘field of play’ for the Commonwealth Games event.  The purpose of the Order is to facilitate exclusive use of the Mountain Bike Track for Commonwealth Games athletes for training and competition; to facilitate ticket-only access to the finish line; and to provide secure compounds for broadcasting and competition equipment.  The majority of the Park will remain open to the public throughout the Order period.  The proposed Order will be effective from 24th July to 29th July 2014.

A map showing the extent of the Order and alternative routes, where appropriate, is provided at the below link.  Representations or objections in respect of the Order may be sent to the email address below.  In the case of objections, the grounds on which they are made must be stated and contact details, including a telephone number, must be provided.

Please note*: this consultation refers only to non-vehicular access (mainly walking and cycling).  It does not concern vehicular access, parking or other Games-related matters.  Correspondence relating to the latter will not be considered.
