What do we want to know?

It is proposed to close Wellfield Nursery School and develop a new Family Learning Centre in the former Gadburn School building. This building would be refurbished as part of the 4Rs programme. If the proposal is agreed, parents and children would be consulted on the name for the new Family Learning Centre. The new Family Learning Centre would be located on the ground floor of the existing Gadburn School building. It would provide significantly enhanced early years provision for the local community.

What do we want to know?

The Licensing Board is required to prepare and publish a Licensing Policy Statement every three years with respect to the exercise of its functions under section 6 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005. The aim of this Policy Statement is to ensure that licensed premises have a positive impact on their locality and where any premises do cause problems, they are addressed swiftly and in the most appropriate manner.
The views of local residents, community councils and the licensed trade are fundamental to the development of these policies.

What do we want to know?
The City Council has prepared a draft appraisal for the Woodlands Conservation Area.  This document aims to:- 

- identify the key features which together create the special character of the area 
- identify the challenges, which need to be addressed in order to protect its special architectural and historic interest 
- review existing conservation area boundaries and suggest changes where appropriate 
- identify opportunities for its preservation and enhancement
 
Residents, property owners and local groups have a major role to play in the preparation of conservation area appraisals and their involvement and support is fundamental to the success of the whole process.
 
The attached leaflet provides details of how you may comment and contribute to the appraisal preparation. A questionnaire is also attached to guide your comments. 
 
Paper copies of the Draft Appraisal will be deposited at local libraries and the Councils’ DRS enquiries desk at 231 George Street, Glasgow G1 1QU.
 
Comments should be e-mailed to appraisal@drs.glasgow.gov.uk or posted to the above address, to be received by 31st October 2013.

What do we want to know?


Proposal:


(i) To close Garscadden Primary School and Yoker Primary School (including Thirlstane Day Nursery) and build a new non-denominational primary school as part of the campus on the St Brendan's Primary School site.

 
(ii) To close Kelso Nursery School and build a new, extended day, 52 weeks a year, Early Years establishment as part of the campus on the St Brendan's Primary School site.
The new campus would be a new-build; encompassing a new St Brendan's Primary School, a new non-denominational primary school and a new early years establishment. The campus would also include a day/evening community facility, managed by Glasgow Life, which would incorporate a dance studio, fitness suite, and a separate changing and reception facilities. There would also be evening and weekend access to the multi-purpose games hall and exterior all-weather pitch.
