What do we want to know? We are proposing to ask parents to register their child for entry to P1 by 15th November for children due to commence P1 the next August and the same date for P7 pupils transferring to S1. Placing requests for P1 and S1 will also be moved to 15th November. Statutory deadline must be adhered to. Bringing the process earlier into November will help improve the planning for transition for those children whose parents use placing requests. Decisions will be made earlier which will allow children to be included in more activities in the knowledge that they have a place at their chosen school. It will also improve our planning and will allow the authority to comply with legislation to advise parents in writing of which school their child will be going to. For parents the selection of their child's primary or secondary school is a very important decision. The additional documentation is intended to provide comprehensive, helpful information for parents to assist them with what can be an emotive and difficult time. This is a legal process covered by Education (Scotland) Act 1980 (which was amended in 1981). The Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004. The Education (School and Placing Information)(Scotland) Regulations 2012/130 (Scottish SI). New regulations were introduced and came into force on 8 December 2012. These regulations have been considered in the preparation of the new management circulars.

What do we want to know? Glasgow City Council consulted on the Local Development Plan for Glasgow Main Issues Report (MIR) during October to December 2011. The MIR consultation was a key stage in the process of producing a Local Development Plan for Glasgow which, when adopted, will replace City Plan 2 in guiding future development and the use of land. The consultation responses included proposals for the development, or change of use, of some sites not included within the original MIR consultation documents. To ensure that the public and other interested parties can make their views known on these proposals, prior to the Council publishing its Proposed Local Development Plan, details of these proposals are now being published for consultation.

What do we want to know? Shawlands Cross and Waverley Park Draft Conservation Area Appraisal In recognition of the important role the historic environment could play in the regeneration of the area, the City Council has prepared a Draft Conservation Area Appraisal of Shawlands Cross. Following the commitment set out in City Plan 2 (2009), and in response to requests from local members and residents, the Council has also included a study of Waverley Park as a potential Conservation Area. The Draft study highlights the quality of the historic environment to be found at Shawlands Cross and Waverley Park and proposes the designation of two distinct conservation areas.
Summary Of Results The outcome of consultation will be published in January 2013
